week 6 | friday night

[ rhys is definitely following fiona back to her room that night and looking a bit antsy as they settle in. he's thankfully avoided jack most of the day but he knows with tomorrow's trial, that's not possible. god... damnit.

biting the thumbnail of his flesh hand, he glances over to fiona before going to sit down on the bottom bunk and look at her in a kind of pleading way. ]

Fi, I need your help.

Is this about Jack still?

[ despite her phrasing, she doesn't sound annoyed — instead, she sounds antsy, as if she's trying to express her concern through that. fiona's biting her thumbnail too, with her other hand placed under her other arm's elbow in an anxious pose. she's pacing the room.

hancock was dead.. and he died so unceremoniously. he was caught offguard. that could happen to any of them. she could walk into a room, and be mince meat immediately. the thought deeply unsettled her. ]

What's up, Rhys? We've got to communicate more. Things are getting.. serious.

[ fiona offers a thoughtful noise. she careens her neck a bit and looks up at the ceiling, thinking. ]

If I had to wager, I'd say Jack has a better chance than we do. I've already been on the crazy train — you.. sort of have. Technically. You know. [ ahem. ] Anyway, it wouldn't be very effective if someone was just on the suspect list week after week. So I'm sure Jack's turn is coming up.

.. Why?

What?

[ she really should have expected that, but she didn't. despite everything — well, rhys was a loyalist. she knew he'd follow something through until the very end, and that had made her nervous up until this point, because it seemed like what he was 'following through' was going to be jack.

but now.. ]

.. Okay. I mean, I'm definintely not opposed to it. But only if you think it's safe, okay? If he sees we voted for him, and he doesn't get offed.. I mean, you probably know what will happen better than I do. Let's just sleep on it, Rhys. You can stay here again.
