[ HEY RANULF happy lunch, ranulf. in fact, because you've been so nice to him lately and rhys is in a bit of a Mood because of the whole all his (few) friends are dying thing, he's going to be nice when he approaches.

which means! he'll have a plate of tuna sandwiches as he comes to ranulf wherever he is (in his room? outside? wherever??) ]

Hey, Ranulf! Can we talk? I brought lunch!

[ cats sure are something else, huh?? but oh come on, don't be that surprised. rhys can be nice... when he wants... sometimes... no, no he can't.

also, that was a terrible pun, objectively. subjectively, it does kind of make rhys grin. ugh... awful jokes, his true weakness.

he's just going to sit next to ranulf wherever he's sitting and hold out the plate to him. there you go, eat your tuna, kitty cat. ]

Ha ha. You're hilarious. [ it's flat but he's still amused here. ] I just wanted to talk to you since, I don't know, you seem so go-with-the-flow about this whole thing in a way not anyone else is.

[mothercat]

[ A flat laugh is still a laugh, it's also a better reaction than he's received in the past so his smile isn't even close to breaking. ]

Go-with-the-flow... Yep, I can see why you might think that. [ Since Rhys is offering him the plate, he smiles and nods his head gratefully before taking it and grabbing a sandwich. ]

Is there something weighing on your mind? [ Bite! ... the sandwich. ]

[ you're so relaxed, it's scary. like, legitimately kind of scary. ranulf, please!!

but he's easy to talk to anyway. is it because he's a cat and rhys is a cat person? maybe. rhys runs a hand through his hair and sighs, looking up towards the ceiling. ]

It's about Miata. I recorded a conversation between her and Katerina the other day, in the church. Do you want to hear it?

[ When in murdergame, relax in murdergame!

He takes his time chewing as he mulls over what Rhys just said. He swallows once he's ready to speak! ]

You recorded it? [ If he seems a little confused and not sure of what he's saying, it's because he isn't. Guess who never went to the record store or had it explained to him before. The bewilderment wears off quickly, however. ] Robots and the like really are amazing. Who would have thought there was something so convenient out there? You beorc always find new ways of impressing me.

[ Ah, yes, the enthusiasm of someone from a crappy old society learning about modern/future technology. ] All right, I'll take a listen. What do I have to do?

[jackhole]

[ rhys opens his mouth, as if he wants to argue that he's not a robot but also that would... take explaining a world of other things to ranulf and you know what? maybe he should pick and choose his battles. so he just grins sheepishly and nods and goes to explain. ]

Nothing. It's uh, it's just in my hand.

[ which is a weird thing to say again but then rhys lifts his robot hand and a holographic screen projects and after a moment, an audio recording of a certain conversation plays (without the sans and papyrus stuff) so ranulf can hear it. rhys will play it all in full before looking to ranulf for his reaction. he's really curious what the cat has to say, actually. ]

[ Good choice, Rhys. Good choice.

As Ranulf listens, he slowly finishes off a second sandwich. Thankfully the recording ends a minute or so after it's gone. ] Interesting. Veeery interesting.

[ At least he seems serious? If withdrawn. ] Who else knows about this?

[ rhys just shrugs and runs a hand through his hair. ]

A few people. Break, Papyrus, and Sans all know... knew, whatever. I've been playing it for who I can since more secrets aren't going to help any of us survive. What do you think they're arguing about?
